Bella should have known that they wouldn't be heading to the bank at a normal human speed, especially with them being in Edward's car and whatnot. Stupid shiny Volvo owner, she thought, reminiscing back to her human days when she had first uttered those words. After both had strapped themselves in, the aforementioned stupid shiny Volvo peeled out of the parking lot, almost taking out a couple of nearby parked cars in the process. Damn, Edward, slow down, Bella couldn't help but entertain in her mind; even though she had certainly acquired a similar taste for the vampiric speed once she herself had been changed, the bronze-haired boy sitting to her left was exceeding even Bell's limitations on speed - they were dodging cars left and right as they sped down the highway at close to, or perhaps even over, a hundred miles an hour. When Bella had still been human, this would have been more frightening and Edward wouldn't have dared to accelerate to such a speed, for he was ever so protective of her fragile being; yet even now, as Bella Swan was more than indestructible to the natural forces of death, Edward's driving was still frightening her a bit.
She watched his face contort at her words, his entire body freezing like a statue as his foot continued to press on the gas pedal. In response, Bella's grip tightened on her seat, her fingernails digging into the leather interior. "Edward, I know that I shouldn't have brought it up," she said as coolly as possible, trying to maintain a calm exterior while admitting defeat and attempting to ignore the vehicle's climbing speed and insults from passing drivers. "But can you please slow down? I know that it's difficult for us to die...again, but I'd prefer if this car didn't wrap around that oak tree down at the end of the road." Knowing that her nails were probably leaving half-moon indentations in the seats, Bella wanted to release her grip yet couldn't bring herself to; her left hand still gripped around Edward's, she wondered if she had harmed him at all, musing that she had probably been clutching at his hand with a deathgrip mere seconds ago. This is turning into one hell of a car ride, she thought silently, her eyes warily focusing on the speedometer.
As she took a deep breath, Bella tossed Edward's words around in her head. Bella...All I truly need is you in my life. Didn't he get it? What she was trying to give him was her - all of her. And yes, they still had that horrid agreement that they would wait until after they got married; while not horrid in the actual request, Bella knew that Edward would probably find some excuse to postpone their intimacy even longer, undoubtedly for fear of hurting her. Either that or some new challenge to their relationship would poke its nasty head into the picture just like every other time that Edward and Bella dared to get closer to one another - the forever eighteen year-old anticipated that something would inevitably happen at their wedding, and who knew where they would go from there. Maybe the Volturi would show up and out of the blue, require that Bella join them or they would kill Edward - as ridiculous as it sounded, Bella wasn't quite crossing that off the list as an impossibility, for she had been privy to some unbelievable situations, things that would bewilder just about anyone. So perhaps the Volturi would or wouldn't show up, but needless to say, the brunette newborn feared the worst and hoped that it wouldn't hinder any intimate moments between her and Edward, or even their relationship in general.
Bring her thoughts back to the present, Bella gave Edward's tight hand a squeeze, trying to reassure him and calm him down, for even though he was attempting to mask his anger, her fiancee was visibly upset by what she had said. "Look, I know," she started, tossing a quick glance at him before turning her head to stare out the window. "But I can't help it, Edward - please don't be mad at me. So much has happened to us, gotten in the way of our relationship, that I'm just wondering if we've been properly denied true intimate moments." Pausing, Bella thought back to past times where Edward had been a bit more passionate, her mind instantaneously floating to her and Edward's meadow, or at least the one that she thought of as theirs. It didn't rightfully have their name on it, but it might as well have. Such a fond memory caused a smile to spread to her features, albeit fleeting. "I love you so much, Edward Cullen," she said with sincerity. "But we can't even be sure that our wedding will go without a hitch, and I'm not talking about just because I do something stupid like trip down the aisle."

"No, you shouldn't have." he said in a firm voice as he continued to drive passing cars. Every now and again he would hear the angry thoughts of people when he had passed them at such speed. It brought half a smile to his face when he heard how angry and how much they stumbled on there words even if they were thinking it. Edward sighed and slowed it down to eighty. He hated going slow and he really wished he could keep going faster. He hated slow cars which is why he picked his sliver Volvo. It was very fast and Edward like the gaining speed when he was driving. Him sticking to one speed and not gaining had bother him but if thats what Bella wanted, he was sure to give it to her no matter what. Edward always gave Bella what she wanted and he didn't mind knowing it made her feel better even if something had annoyed him like driving slow. Oh how he hated driving slow but in his mind he did it all for Bella knowing she would feel content about him going slow.
"Is that better?" he asked her as he stared at her for a moment then his eyes darted out on the road again. Edward kept on driving not going over eighty knowing Bella would get upset if he had disobeyed what she had asked. He kept on driving still holding onto her hand softly like if she was still human. Edward still thought of her as a breakable even if she was a vampire. Her klutz habits and her sense of getting in trouble always made him worried about her even if she was a vampire. Edward would always take care of her. He responsible for her, now and if anything happened to her, he would kill himself, literally. He would not live without her, it was impossible for him to live without her or knowing she didn't exist in the world any further. To think of a world, without Isabella Marie Swan, would be a horrible world in Edward's eyes.
Edward looked down as she had squeezed his hand. He did the same only a softer squeeze. Even if she was a vampire, he could not bring himself to say she wasn't breakable anymore. In his eyes, she was very much breakable even if she wasn't a human being anymore. He sighed softly as his anger died down for the moment. His mind only filled with thoughts of Bella and no one else. "We don't have to rush into this." he stated. He didn't want to rush into this ruining the moment. He couldn't bring himself to take her that way. He knew she wouldn't get hurt if anything but he didn't want her to regret anything they shared. He then focused his eyes on the road, it was now empty and the cars were all behind them. They were almost at the bank. It would only be a matter of minutes. Then there was a red light and Edward slammed on the brakes stopping the car as it skid against the ground making smoke appear as the tires staked across the pavement. Then the car came to a stop and Edward watched the other cars driving pass them going either west or east.
Edward sighed once again and looked at her as the other cars passed them back and forth. "I've just been waiting for the prefect moment to take you, Bella. I don't want anything to go wrong when we do have our moment." he said honestly. He looked at her, his eyes were soft and yet serious. He didn't want anything to go wrong knowing there was a lot of things that went wrong one way or another. He wanted nothing wrong, which is why, he wanted to wait after the wedding. He had so many plans for that night and he had so many ideas, he wanted to do it the first time after the wedding, but after what Bella stated about things never were at peace, she was right. But of course, Edward had a backup plan. "I can always ask Alice." he stated looking at her then when he saw the light turn green, he pressed his foot on the gas and they were on there way towards the bank once again.

Maybe she was just being paranoid, but that was just the way that her prior existence had trained her to be, what with vengeful vampires out to spite her and Edward, the Volturi having been watching their every move to check up on Bella and see if the Cullens had stayed true to their promise, and now with the looming threat of war from the mouth of none other than Jacob Black hanging over her head, Bella Swan was no stranger to paranoia; whether it was one extra glance over her shoulder or a foreboding sensation that chose to dwell in the pit of her stomach, it was there. And as the vehicle that she sat in lurched forward, tires squealing as the brakes brought the silver Volvo to a screeching halt, Bella could have sworn she felt her stomach drop out from underneath her - well, at least Edward had slowed down to a respectable eighty miles per hour before his disastrous stop. She was going to comment on his driving again, but decided against it, as that would probably only anger him more and the last thing they needed was a more heated argument; she couldn't, however, bypass the discussion about their intimacy. True, she really shouldn't have brought it up in the first place, yet as they were now already discussing it, she had to make her opinions known (not that Edward wasn't already aware).
"I'm not trying to rush into anything," she said, glancing up at the red beacon that seemed to be staring them in the face before turning her gaze to Edward. "Geez, you must think I'm some sort of....scarlet woman or something!" Quickly turning her head to avert her gaze, Bella grimaced in embarassment; if her soul had still remained human, the rosy tinge that frequented her features (and that Edward had seemed to love so much) would have undoubtedly risen to grace her cheeks. Yet, as her blood no longer lingered inside of her form, Bella had to settle for a mortified facial expression, one that was currently hidden from Edward's view. And it was true - as much as she was adamant about intimate with Edward, that didn't mean she wasn't scared or embarassed about it, not to mention that the last thing that she wanted Edward to think was that she was some sort of common whore. Muttering some inaudible gibberish to herself, she braced herself for whatever look would have crossed Edward's face by now as her gaze relocated itself to once more settle on him.
Yet he inevitably beat her to the punch, speaking some nonsense about...what? Taking her? Oh, these two were certainly quite the pair, each respectably putting their foot into their mouth on various occasions. Bella knew that this was meant to be a serious conversation, but the newborn vampire couldn't help but snicker, a coy smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. "The perfect moment to take me?" she choked out between giggles, her eyes now alight and sparkling. "Edward, that sounds horrible." Shaking her head, she watched the cars whizz by and wondered how much longer they would be forced to endure sitting at this light. Running her thumb lightly over their intertwined hands, Bella smirked. "Well, mister Cullen," she said, her tone have transformed into a playful one, "you can have me whenever you want, although I'm sure you knew that already. And perhaps you better ask Alice - about everything. I don't particularly want any surprises during our wedding, or even more so on our wedding night." Crinkling her nose, Bella could only imagine what was in store for her and Edward.

Edward's crooked smile formed on his face. "Thats what I was exactly thinking of you as." he joked softly. He noticed she had turned away embarrassed. He stayed quiet not speaking. He missed her turning red in front of him. The thought of losing her like that made him want to hurt himself even more. The thought of making her soulless was something Edward wished that didn't happen. Edward thought vampires were soulless creatures. That they didn't have souls and when they died, they wouldn't be going to heaven. That was Edward's point of view. He never wanted to drag Bella into that mess. The thought of Bella not going to heaven where her parents would eventually end up, would bring a huge frown to his face knowing it was his fault she didn't end up in the same place as her parents. He kept staying quiet as he drove on. He felt rather guilty at the moment knowing Bella might not end up at heaven. Edward wished she was and he would do anything to let her go to heaven. He would be very disappointed and angry if Bella never got the chance to see her parents again. Edward knew one day he wanted to see his parents as well and the thought of Bella not being able to see her's would only anger him to the boiling point. He knew that if the werewolves saw other vampires, they would start to think that maybe the Cullens had something to do with the change of them, when in reality, they had nothing to do with it. Nothing. But he knew the werewolves would keep on thinking that it was there fault and the werewolves might even drag them out and Edward would never allow such a thing to happen knowing Charlie still needed Bella and Bella would need Charlie.
Edward stayed quiet as she spoke about her taking her. He was serious but apparently she wasn't taking it serious and it was alright with Edward. He thought the mood shouldn't lighten up anyways and her laughter only brought a smirk to his face. He then arrived at the bank finally and parked into the first parking space. Apparently, people now and days were usually taking the drive towards the window. But Edward had to go inside the bank where something in a small box was hidden and untouched for quite a while. He knew it was the prefect moment to give it to Bella. He killed the engine and he turned to look at her, placing the palm of his hand on her cheek rubbing her check with his thumb as he looked deeply in her eyes. He missed the brown color in her eyes and he wished he could have seen it one more time but he knew that was impossible now. He leaned forward and placed a soft and yet passionate kiss on her lips. He knew he didn't kiss her on the lips as much. He was used to kissing her neck or forehead and he knew he was able to kiss her on the lips knowing he wouldn't bite her lips because she was unbreakable but Edward still thought of her as the opposite. He rather kept it that way knowing he wanted to be her protector. Her light at the end of the tunnel. The person that she would always need until the end of there time.
He smirked darkly as she said what he wanted to hear. "Good, then I'll have you on our wedding night." he said and exited the car taking his keys in his hands all at once. He knew he might have angered her by saying it but at least she offered when he was able to take her. He was sure to ask Alice when he saw her next time. He was determined to ask her. "Of course, I will ask Alice." he stated and wrinkled his nose. His head shot up towards the sky as he heard thunder. He was a little tense as his muscles grew tight. Then in a second he relaxed. He was jumpy lately and he didn't know why or the reason he should be. His eyes then darted down towards Bella waiting for her to exit out of the car so they could walk inside to get what he was planning to give her. He walked around the car and towards the passengers side of the car opening it for her and offering his hand for her to take it. "Off to see the wizard?" he joked softly.

Bella hated to laugh about something as serious as sex, especially when she had just been debating with Edward about when their intimacy would finally reach its peak moment. But, unfortunately, all the improved physical and exterior graces that she had acquired from becoming a vampire did not remedy the poor eloquence of her speech; Bella always managed to say the most inappropriate thing at the wrong time, a moment that it would probably would have just been best to keep her mouth shut. It really was a sort of disease, Bella fathomed, and especially now, when Edward said nothing but simply smiled darkly, she regretted having it. The rest of the ride to the car ride to the bank was awkwardly silent, the entire three minute span. And, while only a miniscule amount of time in comparison to the eternity that the two would be spending together, those three minutes were the slowest three minutes of Isabella Swan's life. Finally, as they arrived at the bank and Edward parked the car, smoothly removing the keys from the ignition, he broke the silence, his reply curt and not really displaying the enthusiasm that Bella would have hoped for when he set the date for their love-making. Psh, this was going wonderfully.
Edward swiftly exited the car and walked around to the passenger side, opening Bella's door for her and offering her a hand up. Well, despite the scruples they had about the most asinine of things, he was still the perfect gentleman. Accepting his hand, Bella gracefully placed her nimble digits atop his, his own quickly closing around hers to pull her to her feet gently. "As long as I don't have to wear those sequined ruby shoes, follow the yellow brick road," she said, her hand still in his, though she had managed to climb out of the car and was now standing on her own two feet for support. She was about to turn to close the car door behind her and follow Edward into the building adjacent to them, yet, biting her lip, decided that she didn't want to end their conversation on such a sour note. Reaching her hand out that had lingered on his palm, Bella grabbed onto Edward's arm, halting him from proceeding into the bank.
"Edward..." she began, her amber orbs staring adamantly staring into his own topaz colored ones. "What we were talking about in the car, I'm sorry that I laughed. What can I say? I always say or do the wrong thing at the wrong time." She truthfully understood his silence and didn't blame him for his sentiments; while, in the beginning, the two hadn't been able to read the other's face or tell what the other was thinking, they had significantly improved in that part of their relationship. They still weren't perfect in that regard, but Bella and Edward undoubtedly knew each other more deeply and intensely now. Thus, while Edward's silence had spoken volumes, Bella had been able to decipher every single word on the page. "I want our first night to be special, too - more than anything else in the world," she said honestly, her gaze still locked with his. "And I'm sorry that I've been trying to push you or rush you into all of this. I just - well, I want so much to be a part of you, to prove to myself that we really do fit together and I'm just not some silly girl with a silly crush..." Her voice trailed off into silence for a moment, her hand dropping from his arm as she took a deep breath and continued to speak. "Heh, I told you I always say the wrong thing at the wrong time - I can't even get a coherent thought out!," she said, her gaze also falling to the ground for a brief moment before lifting to meet his eyes. "Let's go now before I say anything else that sounds stupid." So much for fixing the conversation that had just terminated.

"Oh no. I would never allow you to wear those tacky, atrocious shoes." he said as his face looked disgusted. He would never make Bella wear something hideous like the shoes from the Wizard of Oz. They were to shiny and tacky all around and if he wore anything like that he would have hated it more than anything. Plus, he would never wear heels. Never. Even if Bella told him to, he would refuse to wear heels. Nobody could make him wear heels knowing he could lose his pride as a man. He would feel embarrassed more than anything. He looked up at the Bank knowing he was making a good choice in to what he wanted to give Bella. It was important, and it was something he had been thinking for a long time to give to Bella. He knew it was the prefect moment to give her something that belonged to his mother. His mother Elizabeth. He wished he could see her one more time but he knew it was impossible. If only Carlisle had changed her too, Edward would have been grateful but it was a pity that Carlisle didn't think of it first. He thought of it after his mother had died.
Edward gave her another half smile as she took his hand, he turned around to start walking but felt her stop him. He was confused at first but he said nothing. Then he pressed his lips as she began to speak. Her words like a soft ringing noise in his ear but always enjoyable to hear because it was her voice. He placed his hand on her neck feeling her cold pale stony skin against his. His eyes soften as he looked down at her. He truly loved her to forgive her. It was a little mistake and Edward knew it was which is why he could forgive her so easily. He was always one to forgive people. He was always so forgiving even if he was still angry. He looked down at her with soft and graceful eyes. "It's alright, Bella." he said looking down at her. How could he not be angry at the person he loved so dearly? He couldn't, it was impossible in his mind. He could never stay angry with Bella. Never.
He stared at her while she spoke and then he moved his hand to her neck in a slow manner. He looked like he was concern but he was listening. Her words always manner to him which is while sometimes he took things seriously. He never wanted to make a mistake on anything, which is why he always listened to her with intense eyes and a serious face. "Bella..your not silly." he said looking at her. "You never were silly." he stated looking down at her. He hoped she was getting this through her head because Edward knew she was not silly, she was smart, beautiful, brave, strong, any of those words, but not silly. "You already proved to me that we fit.." he started out. "When you told me you loved me." he said. "And when I loved you back." he said looking at her. It was true. He knew that when he loved her back, they would be the prefect match and it wasn't because Alice told him. It was what he believed in.
"You were the only one to capture my heart like no one else could." he said looking at her. He stared at her with serious eyes and yet a soft expression on his face. "The day you loved me is when I was truly born. It was the day I felt like you were half of me. You complete me in so many ways Bella. Your a part of me more than what you think." he said looking at her. "You made me feel alive again." he spoke in a whisper and moved his hand away from her neck and up towards her cheek brushing his thumb against her cold skin. "Even when you say the wrong things, I could never get angry or stay angry knowing how much I love you to forgive you." he said honestly and pressed his lips against her forehead. He was being honest with his words and he spoke from his heart.

Bella was done - she well as might have been a pile of sloppy, gloopy mush on the ground, and all at the touch of Edward's hand upon her neck. She knew that the parking lot outside the bank was probably not the best place for their intense displays of emotion, but even then, knowing that Edward would cease action before things got too heated and/or before Bella passed out from pure exhilaration at even his slightest touch, she didn't care. He was her Edward. And he was caressing her neck in the parking lot - Bella was on top of the world. It was incredible, actually, the effect that he had on her, the smallest of movements or the slightest gesture rendering her speechless; he really was going to be her undoing. As he spoke to her, Bella listened to each word with rapt attention, although she barely heard one thing that he said, for all her attention was focused on the gentle hand, an ice-cold piece of perfection, that had come to rest on her neck, shortly thereafter joined by his thumb upon her cheek and a pair of lips atop her forehead. Yet somehow, despite the state of euphoria Bella was in, she was able to absorb most of what Edward said and manage a coherent reply.
"Remind me to come to you if I ever have doubts about anything ever again," she whispered softly, her voice not reflecting the positivity with which she spoke, for she was still trying to recollect the pieces of herself that Edward had just shattered all over the ground. "That was honestly the most beautiful thing anything has ever said to me." Her eyes misting over with genuine tears, which she knew were a tad melodramatic for the moment, Bella latched her arms around Edward's neck. She didn't care who saw or if she was being ridiculous; after all they had been through, the couple deserved some semblance of peace where they could fully realize their love for one another, for it was a sentiment that was pure, strong and unyielding. Her heels coming off the ground, Bella perched herself on her toes to plant a kiss on Edward's lips; and there was nothing chaste about the embrace or gesture. When they finally parted, Bella's eyes were still a bit cloudy, her expression incandescently content. "And it's you who complete me, Edward - don't fight me on that," she said, her arms falling from his neck to rest at her sides, her smile not fading an inch.
It was miraculous, really, Bella's transformation in regards to her relationship with Edward. A mere month ago, Bella had still been hesitant about the wedding, fearing people's reactions to her becoming Mrs. Edward Cullen at the meager age of eighteen. The dazzling ring that sat on her left hand she almost viewed as a stigma, knowing that others' eyes constantly bore down upon it, thinking that she was after the Cullens' riches and her love for Edward was simply materialistic. She had almost been afraid to show affection for Edward in public since the engagement announcement had gone out, perhaps in fear of more scrutinization under the public eye. Yet now, Bella held nothing back. She loved Edward with all of her heart, and she wasn't afraid to show the world that. And if that meant throwing her arms around him and kissing him in the middle of a public parking lot, then so be it. It was showy and cliche, but it was nevertheless a profession of her love for him. "C'mon, let's go," Bella finally spoke again, her fingers tugging gently at the sleeve of his shirt. "I want to see this surprise of yours." And with a smile, she waited to follow him inside.

Edward looked at her as she seemed clouded by her thoughts. He was wondering once again. "What are you thinking?" he asked curiously. He was wondering if she ever got annoyed with the question he dared to repeat. But he wanted to know what she was thinking. He wished he could read her mind on some levels but Bella had a private mind and it was always difficult to try and read her actual thoughts. Edward thought when she would become a vampire, that would changed and he was very much wrong. Her mind was a private place where not even he could touch. He could never touch her there and he knew it bother him not knowing what she was thinking most of the time. But he remembered it was the first thing that reeled Edward in towards Bella and he wouldn't forget something like that. He felt like it was his mission to find out why but he knew the answer already. It made him wonder if she even had a power that would deflect other ones. He wouldn't know, or dared to know. Her mind was a special place and Edward always dreamed of getting inside of her head to know what she was thinking. But that was impossible as usual.
Edward gave her favorite crooked smile. "Will do." he said softly looking at her. He would remind her. He never forgot little things anyways. He always tends to remember everything seeing as he was a vampire and he knew a lot because of his memory. He stared at her for a moment as she started speaking again. Another smile to his face. He was smiling a lot today and it surprised him. "I'm glad I can make you feel that way." he said and looked down at her, his eyes always soft as usual. He looked down for a second then when he felt Bella's arms around him, he looked up into her eyes and placed his hands on her waist loosely. He watched her leaned in to kiss him and he leaned in as well kissing her back in a lovingly manner. Her kisses were always unforgettable and he would never forget it, never. He pulled away not wanting to overdo the kiss. He smiled down at her and removed one of his hands off her waist and moved to the side of her so his hand could remain around her waist. He didn't want any other men looking at her like if she was some piece of meat because she belonged to him and no one else. He was not planning on sharing her.
Edward nodded and lead her inside the bank. It was huge in the inside. The outside looked smaller than it was in the inside. He walked up to the counter and removed a small brown key from his pocket and showed it to the women there. The woman stared at him but Edward really didn't care because he was staring at Bella for the moment. The women had took the key leading them towards the safe box Edward had. He followed the woman and watched her open the small metal door on the wall with the key. She stepped aside and moved away. Edward then reached in for a smaller box inside the small door and looked up at Bella with a smile. "I know how much you hate me for wasting money and truly. I didn't waste a penny on this." he said honestly. He then opened the small box to reveal jewelry. Some of his mother's golden jewelry and even some of his father's. It was old but it prefect condition. He then reached in for a small locket that was his mother's and he held it towards Bella along with a small golden ring attached to the locket. He stared at her with a small smile. "This was my mother's. She always carried her wedding ring on a locket. I wanted you to have it, knowing that this little golden heart shaped locket was something to give you knowing that you would always carry my heart with you." he said looking at it and held to towards her. Then he placed the locket in his hand and opened it and there was a black and white picture of him when he was human. It was old but it was in good condition. He knew she was the one to always carry his heart.

As their lips parted, a gentle yet firm hand snaked around Bella's waist, and the young woman noticed the possessive look, although only a flash in his eyes, that briefly sparked in Edward's demeanor. He had to know that Bella was solely his, that she could never dream of being with any other man; yet she had retained her own doubts as well, fearing that Edward would leave her for someone of greater physical beauty once she had become a vampire - after all, it was her blood that had sung out to him, attracting him to her like a moth to the flame. Yet, as she was no longer human, Bella had feared that her lack of blood would deter Edward from her, having eliminated the initial reason for their meeting. Whatever the reasoning behind each one's fears, it seemed that each member of the pair retained some sort of trepidation about losing the significant other, Edward's grip around her waist affirming this assumption. Truthfully, Bella found it endearing that he was so possessive of her - Edward was staking his claim on her, and while many would have argued that such a practice was antiquated and highly patriarchal, Bella liked knowing just how attached he was to her.
As they entered the bank, Bella's eyes instantaneously widened. For Pete's sake, it was huge!; the exterior certainly didn't divulge the enormity of the interior. "Edward, this place looks more like a ballroom than a bank," she whispered, warily looking about. Yet it certainly was a bank, Edward having thus approached a teller and given her a key. As the woman looked at the pair incredulously and turned to lead them to what Bella presumed to be Edward's safe box, Bells managed a weak smile and followed behind curtly, her hand holding onto Edward's arm that had once again found its way to her waist. All of this seemed surreal - as they walked, she glanced down at the glittering diamonds that seemed to stare up at her from her left hand, the metal band securely fastened on her finger. She was engaged to Edward Cullen, the two due to be married within the month. And as strange and new as this whole experience was, Bella Swan couldn't think of anything more exciting or that made her as ecstatic as the simple thought of their union did.
When they finally arrived at their destination, Bella stood in a curt bout of silence as the safe box was opened and Edward withdrew a small box. What on Earth is in there? she mused silently to herself. I already have an engagement ring! Waiting with bated breath, Bella gasped in awe as Edward opened the parcel to reveal a beautiful locket, his mother's locket that he now wished her to have; the young brunette had never seen any single piece of jewelery that was more beautiful. See, to Bella Swan, beauty came in simplicity - she didn't want flashy diamonds or overzealous amounts of gold; she, while in love with Edward and thrilled that they were to be wed, still looked down upon the band that sat on her left hand many a time, still bewildered to the fact that it lingered there. Yet this locket - Edward's mother's locket - was perfect. "Oh Edward..." Bella began, her gaze flickering up to his face before once again settling on the locket and ring that dangled from the thin gold chain in Edward's hand.
"It's beautiful," she said breathlessly. "I'm honored." And it was true - Bella Swan could think of no higher honor than Edward asking her to wear his mother's locket and wedding ring around her neck; the young woman was flattered. Her amber orbs continued to admire it as it remained in Edward's hand and she couldn't help but gasp slightly as he pulled it away from her to open it. Oh my God... her thoughts echoed, her hands flying to her mouth as she peered at what lay inside the locket. That wasn't...him, was it? It had to be - that was Edward Cullen when he had still been human, before Carlisle had changed him. Scooting closer to Edward, Bella peered around his shoulder to get a better look at the picture, her hand coming to rest on his arm. "Edward," she started simply, her gaze resting upon the side of his face. "That's you..." It wasn't a question, more of a hesitant statement before she finished her thought. "...when you were human, isn't it?" Even though the teller had left the two alone for some privacy and was out of earshot, Bella's voice inevitably had dropped to a hushed whisper.

Edward stared at her for a long moment as he looked at her while she she looked at necklace. His eyes lingered on her face, staring at how truly amazing and beautiful she really was. Edward knew Bella was the exact match to what he wanted in a woman. Edward knew she was the one he always wanted beside her. Even on the first day in January when she had arrived to Forks High School, he knew something would happen. Something wonderful and yet tragic. But he was more towards something wonderful. He didn't vision her in his future at first, but he visioned her as the best person on the planet besides anyone in his family. Edward knew that something good would happen, though he had his doubts knowing how humans would fear a vampire. After all, Dracula was rather gruesome but Edward was a good vampire, a vegetarian vampire in his case. His diet was good and he felt very satisfied with it. He was glad he wasn't a murder to humans. It made him felt better knowing he wasn't the true reason that humans died, it was other vampires that lived up to there traditional feeding. He wished other vampires at followed there diet. But he knew that could never happen.
He looked up at her with his golden eyes as she looked at the picture. He wasn't as good looking as he was now in the picture but it was him, when he was human. Camera's were developed in the late 1800 hundreds and he remembered that his mother Elizabeth loved taking pictures. It was something that stayed strong to his mind knowing that it was an important detail to his life, his human life. He stared at the picture not even recognizing the memory of when he had taken it. His human memories faded and Edward couldn't do a thing about it. He knew sooner or laster he might even forget where and when he was born! It was only a matter of time. But Edward kept documents of his birth. He had then inside the safe box here in the bank. He stared at the picture of himself trying to remember when his mother had taken this picture. Nothing popped in his mind and he took a deep breath in defeat. If only his human memories were just as strong as his vampire memories.
Edward nodded to her. "Yes, Bella..." he answered as he stared at her face in almost a dazed trance. "Thats me when I was human." he said honestly. When Edward became a vampire, he stored all of the most valuable things to him in this little safe box. As soon as he got older, he forgot that he had these things in this bank until the other day or so the bank gave him a notification of it. It shocked him because he couldn't remember that he had left so many things here and he had no idea. Edward merely wished he could remember even the little things. Edward knew he was going to try somehow to get his memories back. Maybe he could find a vampire with a strange power, but he knew most likely there might not be a vampire with such a gift. Only a few vampires are born with special gifts like what Edward, Alice, and Jasper had. He then moved behind Bella and placed the necklace around her neck with a crooked smile and moved in front of her looking at the necklace around her neck. "A prefect fit for my prefect bride." he said looking into her eyes.

It was a simple picture, something that someone probably wouldn't think of as a life-altering possession, yet the picture that Edward held in his hand meant the world to one Isabella Swan. For it was in looking at that black and white photograph that Bella believed, with one solitary glance, she knew a world more about Edward. It was almost a silly whim, but sentiments of nostalgia and warmth came flooding into her very essence as she gazed at the picture, her amber orbs not drifting from it. She wished that she would have been able to see him then, back when he was full of life and not so afraid of breaking her, although that had seemed to pass once Carlisle had changed Bella into a vampire. She wished that she could have laid her head on his chest and heard his heartbeat, seen his skin flush whenever she kissed him, left him breathless from a passionate embrace and to feel the warmth radiate from his body as he hugged her. Yet Bella knew that was all just a distant daydream now, for both Edward and herself were far from human and would never get the chance to experience such sentiments ever again, not in their full capacity at least.
However, it was a sacrifice that Bella had willingly made, and she was not about to complain about it. Sure, she had lost some fleeting human sentiments, but she would forever get to experience the euphoria of being in love with Edward Cullen; it was sheer bliss simply being in the same room with him, and departing from her human soul was a price well worth to pay in exchange for an eternity with her beloved. Glancing at the picture that remained in his hands once more, she eyed Edward carefully as he moved behind her to place the locket around her neck, the clasp slowly clicking shut before he moved to stand in front of her to admire the piece of jewelery that now dangled to rest gently on her chest. As Edward spoke, Bella sighed peacefully, smiling as she tenderly fingered the chain that adorned her neck. "You are too perfect," she spoke simply, taking a few steps forward, closing the gap that still persisted between the two of them. Idly, she began to trace circles on his chest with her finger, her eyes watching the path of her digits before lifting to meet his own topaz-colored orbs.
"Thank you," she said, "I love it." And despite all of her protests about receiving gifts, she really did appreciate the present that now dangled around her throat. Yes, it was an exquisite gift with unquestionable merit as far as jewelery was concerned, but it also had unyielding sentimental value, which made it all the more special to Bella. Edward could buy her all the meaningless trinkets and baubles that he wanted, doting upon her to the extreme, and that still wouldn't make her happy; Bella didn't want material possessions - she was content enough knowing that Edward loved her, and his mother's locket was a stunning reminder of the fact that he did in fact love her. Some may think that she was being silly yet again, but she felt that, in giving her the locket, Edward had given Bella a piece of himself, and that was something that she would treasure forever and always. Dropping her gaze once more to the locket, Bella lightly ran her finger atop the engravings that adorned the front. "It's so beautiful," she breathed once more, "I'll keep it with me always."
