Zai sat on the edge of the cliff her hair out and washed in to its natural make. Thick waves flowing around her face mimicking the ocean and its loud crashing at the base of the cliffs. One would be a fool to dive today, just the spray that touched her feet at this height and its frigidness should have been enough but the clouds over head were gray and she knew it'd rain soon. The scent of rain was acrid on her tongue as she closed her honey eyes once more enjoying the feel and scent of La Push, her new....home? She shivered at the thought of finally settling down and allowing the others in to her head, she chewed her lower lips a habit she'd gotten from Jenny. She'd have to do something about this crush she had on Jacob and fast.
She fussed for a bit with the flare of her jeans her gray converse so battered from use and being written on it was a wonder they didn't fall in to the sea at present. Her head whipped up honey eyes flowing open to stare through chocolate tresses in to the forest...had she heard...a twig snap?

After hours of walking down the beach aimlessly, Paul decided to go find someone for his pack. It was too boring to be alone and he was desperate for company. If he didn't find anyone, he'd start talking to anything that might talk back. That included his dog. With a yawn, he walked up the hill to get to the cliffs which is where most of his mates could be found, but he didn't find any of his pack members. Instead he found a girl who smelled of wolf. At first he thought that she could've been Amber or Leah, but she wasn't. He made his way toward her, clearing his throat and crossing his arms over his bare torso as he waited for her to acknowledge his presence.

"Yo."
Zai watched the sea, she at least spoke. The person behind her hadn't had the niceties too though she figured it was probably for his or her own reason. She held out her hand there lay a chocolate bar...who'd refuse right?
"Want some?"
She turned honey colored eyes sweeping the air to lock with his own eyes. Static, what else could she describe it as? Something clicked home in her brain, something fell in to place; a piece of the puzzle that had been missing her entire life. It came crashing down on her, stealing her breath much like when she'd met Jacob. She fought to keep the straight bored face she had but she felt it crumbling round the edges. Were all the damn La Push boys going to steal her breath away or what!?

He lifted his head, nodding to her. "Yo," he said in reply. He wasn't much of a social person and his only friends were the people in his pack. He didn't like the whole idea of going out and meeting new people, so he didn't do that often. He looked at the offered chocolate bar and shook his head. "I'll pass," he said. He didn't have much of a sweet tooth. Sure he had candy now and then, but chocolate was a food that he loathed. Then again, he'd rather eat chocolate then his father's food. Ewh.
When she turned around, their eyes met. For a long while that was the only thing he could look at before he blinked and looked away quickly, frowning. 'What the hell was that?' he thought angrily. He didn't like it, but yet it felt nice. He looked back at the girl, hoping that there wasn't going to be a repeat. There wasn't. Relief crossed his face and then frown was replaced by his original mundane expression. "Who are you?" he asked in a somewhat bitter tone. He hoped she didn't take it offensively, but hey, that was just how he was. Bitter. Mean. Angry. Meet Paul.

"Zai Colette. And you are?" [/b] See she could be civil. Jacob had warned her that his pack wouldn't tolerate disrespect so she bit her bitching ache to let lose on his ass for his behavior and settled for being as polite as she could. Sweet as a heart attack. She glanced at him once more to see him looking at her, she didn't mind, in fact it was hard not to check him out as well. Their eyes met again, she didn't want to look away, a smile curved her lips and she dipped her head in an almost shy move allowing her curls to hide her face somewhat from view.[/right]

Zai Colette? That was a really weird name. He looked down at his feet, shuffling them. "Paul Harper," he said in a monotone voice. See? He wasn't good at meeting people. He didn't even know how to start a conversation. He just stood there, looking at his feet before looking back at her. She seemed shy yet there was a smile on her face. He was so use to hearing people's thoughts that he wasn't use to not hearing her thoughts. Then he remembered something. Her smell. The smell of a werewolf. "You're a werewolf," he stated, meaning for it to be a question only he failed at asking it. It was more of a statement the way he said it.
She had covered her face with her hair, looking down. He didn't understand why she would cover her pretty face, but he didn't comment on it. Instead, he looked away because he had nothing to look at. He looked at the water behind her and then the sky above them. It was definitely going to rain soon. He frowned and then stretched his arms above his head.

"And so are you."
She tucked her hair behind her ear and stared at him, allowing the left side of her face to be framed in the deep brown wash of curls. She drew her knees up, pulling her legs back on to the cliff in the process. Zai smiled faintly and licked her lips lightly, a little chocolate smeared there was cute but embarrassing all the same. Had he seen? Did he want to kiss it off as badly as she wanted him too? That particular thought brought color to her cheeks and forced her honey glazed eyes to stare at the black pitiless ocean once more.
"Nice day out."
She mused, sarcastically of course. But then again she did like the rain, though it seemed to rain a little to much in town. She watched him stretch taking in his figure and renewing the blush on her pale cheeks. She looked away again swiftly fiddling with the hem of her button up long sleeved shirt.

"Unm," was all he said to her response. Paul wasn't exactly the social butterfly that would spark up an immediate bubbly conversation. That was Embry. Or Jacob. Or anyone else he knew for that matter. Everyone was more social than he was. He looked back at her as she licked the chocolate off her lips, then looked away after noticing that she was blushing. Why was she blushing? Ah, whatever.
'Nice day out,' she said, sarcasm hinted in her voice. He let out a low chuckle and nodded, stuffing his hands into his pocket and yawning. He looked back at her and saw she was blushing, again. He cocked a brow and asked, "Why do you keep doing that?"

"Good question."
She mused and looked away, the abruptness of the question helped her to lose the blush in a faint pang of embarassment.
'Great. Another one.'
She felt a small spurt of anger brush up against her. She couldn't stay here if her system was going out of whack, she couldn't possibly imprint on every guy in the pack could she? She felt a pang of real nausea sink in to her systems at the thought of it. Drawing her knees to her chest she allowed for the mildly awkward silence and felt the heat that had built between the two dissipate. She felt a small sigh escape her lips, maybe it wasn't really an imprint just a mini crush that barely lasted at all.
"So..."
She didn't know what the hell to say to him, she glanced behind her again, the feeling was probably mutual he didn't seem to have much 'words' at all.
